ABSTRACT

In this chapter, the authors discuss script form is their collaborative exploration/reflection after the performance and the research conference. There is a co-evolving coemergence of drama, script, theater, and audience as active participants. Buenaventura's character of La Maestra gains her strength to resist the violence in Colombia from the space of death where she becomes reunited with eternity and earth. Stories such as La Maestra's have readily incorporated themselves into their felt experiences; their emotions echo and resonate with their own encountering of the world. Michael Taussig has also suggested that the space of death is preeminently a space of transformation: through the experience of coming close to death there well may be a more vivid sense of life. Buenaventura's character of La Maestra gains her strength to resist the violence in Colombia from the space of death where she becomes reunited with eternity and earth. Bearing witness, speaking Buenventura's words as testimonies.
