ABSTRACT

Here are seven actual stories of human experiences to help flesh out the ideas expressed in the previous chapter. These stories are not meant to prove or disprove anything with respect to so-called psychiatric medications. I presented my arguments in the last chapter in that regard, and I am not intending that these stories serve as evidence one way or the other. Rather, I simply want to show the human face of living “on meds” after receiving a mental disorder diagnosis. Some of these stories have been shortened from longer narratives but they are all otherwise untouched. These are snapshots of the present state of mental health treatment.
