ABSTRACT

Abba Eban wrote that in World War II Jews had influence in many places but power in none. Today Jews have power. The whole world describes that power today. In politics, it's not reality that counts, it's perception. There is a media distortion that misrepresents Israel and the Jewish people all too frequently. Chief rabbis of France, Germany, and Norway have warned Jews not to go out wearing obvious Jewish symbols. In Great Britain, a Jew is four times more likely to be the victim of a hate crime than a Muslim. In the US, a Jew is seven times more likely to be the victim of a hate crime than a Muslim. The Jews by their sweat and tears and blood built two of the holy temples there. It's what man does to infuse the moment with sanctity that gives it its ultimate importance.
