ABSTRACT

In 1993 the Palestinians were exiled in Tunisia and the rest of the Arab world, their military forces scattered, their fortunes depending on donations from wealthy Arabs. And their capacity to act curtailed and restrained; the PLO was boycotted by the United States and it posed no military threat to any part of Israel. Israel's position compared to the pre-Oslo situation, are further exacerbated by the presence in Israel of over one million Palestinians who are Palestinians for all intents and purposes and support their people against their country on all points. It is clear from the long list of the Oslo failures, and of the bones of contention which have persisted in the ensuing "peace-process". Negotiations, as protracted and difficult as they may be, must end in an agreement between the parties to divide that vast territory which can accommodate the majority of the Israeli Jews and the Palestinian Arabs.
