ABSTRACT

Four major inventions in ancient China are the symbols for humanity's transition from ignorance to forming a civilization. All four of these inventions are closely related with scientific technology and among these, the technologies of papermaking and printing established a firm base for book publishing in ancient China. Science Press is the largest comprehensive scientific, technical, and professional publishing institute formed by the consolidation of the Pre-Edit and Translation Bureau of Chinese Academy of Science and Longman United Book Company, which was established in 1930s. People's Public Health Press is directly affiliated with the Ministry of Public Health and is the "central level" medical and health professional publishing house in China. Publishing House of Electrical Industry's (PHEI) strategy is to focus on three areas of publishing management: logistics management, information management, and capital flow management. The publishing programs of PHEI include computer science and technology, communication and Internet technology, basic electricity principles and related electronic technology.
