ABSTRACT

There is much to be said about the familiar little creature, Jumper. In addition to his diminutive size, one important factor in explaining the invisibility and evanescence of the Flea is his facility in jumping, for which reason he is called—the Jumper. When he jumps, as he frequently does, he really does jump. In other words, with the Jumper a jump is always and unmistakably a jump. The Jumper jumps many times the height and the length of his own body, which is more than can be said of those other creatures. The juniper is a kind of tree belonging to the family of pines or conifers. It is a rather slim tree with proportionately slim leaves. It is that the juniper has become a sacred tree, so sacred that, unlike other trees, its name has been adopted by religious men as a religious name.
