ABSTRACT

Ms. Cooper particularly looking forward to working with a lot of different students with disabilities, teachers, parents, and administrators in Lincoln County's eight elementary and three middle schools and one high school. Ms. Cooper makes a point of visiting Mr. Collins's classroom first thing the next morning and begins to learn about his students. After everyone introduces themselves, Ms. Cooper quickly reviews the schedule for the day using her schedule board. She then asks the students and teacher assistants to stand up and run two laps around the gym for the first part of warm-ups. At one point Ms. Cooper sees tears rolling down Linda's face, and she knows that Mr. Johansen, whether intentionally or not, is hurting Linda. She feels she should quickly report this incident to someone in order to protect Linda. She also wonders if the autism specialist and/or building principal agreed to use of a pain compliance technique.
