ABSTRACT

70 species, predominantly Oriental and Australasian, and absent from the Americas. Only 10 (14%) are Afrotropical and, of these, six occur in Kenya. All of the Kenyan birds may have resident populations, but at least two are also regularly augmented by nonbreeding intra-African migrants.
