ABSTRACT

Although the Shannon (Whittaker-Shannon-Kotel’nikov [WSK]) sampling theorem has been employed successfully in many applications in various disciplines, there have been occasions where it ceased to be such a useful tool to reconstruct certain types of signals. More general sampling theorems were needed for different reconstruction problems. A great number of research papers have been published in the last four decades dealing with various aspects of the WSK sampling theorem, in particular, its extensions, generalizations and applications.
