ABSTRACT
In fiber reinforced plastic tanks and vessels used in the chemical processing industry, there are many discontinuities. Examples of discontinuities are openings for manholes or nozzles, connections between heads and shells, flanges or effect of saddle supports on horizontal vessels. These structures are complicated and limited work has been done to understand their behavior.
