Packages generally contain instruction on usage of the product but in all cases, the instructions are important for customer satisfaction. Inspection is often performed to insure that the tamper-proof device is in the proper state when the product leaves the manufacturing area. One of the most common applications for vision systems is for the inspection of containers. The containers may be inspected for a variety of potential irregularities: missing, crooked or incorrect labels; bottle fill height; missing or damaged caps; foreign can detection; and code dates. An automated inspection system for pharmaceutical in-line processes which require a high degree of accuracy in couting of a product has been developed by Automation Intelligence. This system significantly increases counting accuracy and decreases total inspection time and labor over manual methods.
