Introduction

We begin with showing some motivation to study bilinear algebra. This invokes a comparison of affine and orthogonal geometry of vector spaces. Then we give an overview of the material covered in this book and, finally, we list prerequisites from linear algebra and from abstract algebra (groups, rings and fields).
