ABSTRACT

In this section we study bilinear spaces containing vectors orthogonal to every vector of the space. The zero vector has this property, but there may exist nonzero vectors v in a bilinear space V such that (v, x) = 0 for all x ∈ V, or (x, v) = 0 for all x ∈ V. We will distinguish carefully between these two situations since we do not assume in this section the reflexivity of all occuring bilinear spaces.
