ABSTRACT
We are interested in the development of chemical sensors based on immobilized chemical indicators coupled to a spectrometer through fiber optics. Indicators may be immobilized by attaching them to a solid support or confining them behind a barrier which is permeable to analyte but not to the indicator. Many systems are based on polymers. One facet of our research has involved the development of new polymer systems for use with fiber optic chemical sensors.
