Rapid, Filtration-Based Immunoassays Performed with a Silicon Biosensor

Immunoassays are considered to be among the most sensitive and specific methods of chemical analysis (1). However, even using automated immunoassay instrumentation, it has been difficult to perform sensitive immunoassays on the timescale of minutes. We will describe a rapid immunoassay system having an assay time of three minutes and a sensitivity of better than 1 ng of protein.
