ABSTRACT

Three experiments were conducted to investigate the best methods for inoculating uninfected meristem tip-cultured ‘Bluecrop’ blueberry plants with an ericoid fungal symbiont (Hymenoscyphus ericae). Infection level was low for all treatments, and there were no statistical differences in level of infection. The control was not infected. A technique was also developed for observing the infection by H. ericae of highbush blueberry plantlet root cells in vivo. Future experiments will focus on increasing the level of infection after inoculation. [Article copies available from The Haworth Document Delivery Service: 1-800-342-9678.]
