ABSTRACT

In the ammoximation reaction, cyclohexanone is converted into the oxime by reaction with ammonia and different oxidants. In this paper the three ammoximation methods are discussed and compared: i) in the liquid phase with hydrogen peroxide as oxidant (EniChem route); ii) in the liquid phase by in situ production of H2O2; iii) in the vapor phase with molecular oxygen. The most important parameters of the catalyzed reaction are described and the different reaction patterns are discussed.
