ABSTRACT
The results obtained in the hydrogenation of various polyunsaturated organic compounds over several mixed oxides has led to some general features of a selective catalyst. Their monohydrogenation and the chemo selectivities are related to the capability of the solid to store hydrogen, back donate the electrons because of the acidic character of the active site.
