ABSTRACT

Unpromoted transition metal oxides of nickel, zinc, cobalt, iron and nickel-cobalt, supported on ZSM5 zeolite, proved to be active and selective catalysts in methane oxydehydrogenation to Z-but-2-ene. The transition metal cation content did not exceed 5%. Both high conversions of methane (20–45%) and high selectivity to Z-but-2-ene were reached with these catalysts in the temperature range of 670–1050 ° K, while the presence of C2 products was very small (below 1%).
