ABSTRACT
The purpose of this handbook is to tabulate the linear and nonlinear optical properties of the building blocks that make up a bulk material. Chapter 2 discusses how the vacuum molecular susceptibilities are calculated. This chapter, which shows how vacuum molecular susceptibilities are related to the bulk response of a material made of such units, serves as a bridge between Chapter 2 and the rest of the book.
