ABSTRACT
Tantalum is not a new material. Its first commercial use at the turn of the century was as filaments in light bulbs. Later, when it became apparent that tantalum was practically inert to attack by most acids, application in the laboratory and in the chemical and medical industries were developed. The rise of the electronics industry accelerated the development of many nevi applications.
