ABSTRACT

Construction industry has had a poor record of site safety over the years, leading virtually all industries in related statistics in the United States and abroad. A major factor contributing to this situation has been the lack of sufficient knowledge and understanding of the relevant safety (and health) principles, and in many cases, a lack of full appreciation of the importance and implications of safety in design and construction by the project participants; ie. owner, NE, general and subcontractors, CM, and others.
