ABSTRACT

This paper is the written result of a further elaboration of ideas about ethical engineering as they were developed at the Laboratory for Research on Structural Models of the Ghent University (Vandepitte 1989). The reader should be aware that the presented is a rather personal view on the subject, even if the authors claim to be familiar with recent literature in this important and interesting tangent plane of engineering sciences. In an analogy with architectural critique -which starts from an individual point of view also-we believe that this approach does have a value in opening a window on the subject for other engineers.
