ABSTRACT

The shoulder blade (scapula) and collar bone (clavicle) form the framework of the shoulder and serve as a pivot that allows the shoulder to be moved up, down, forward and backward.

Upper arm

The humerus is the long bone in the upper arm that is joined at the shoulder in a complex ball-and-socket joint arrangement. The shoulder joint allows an exceptionally wide range of movement, letting the arm reach out in almost every direction.
