ABSTRACT
The averaging method originally appeared in celestial mechanics and, at the beginning, it was mainly connected with the problems of celestial mechanics. Various averaging schemes were applied to the solution of such problems. The idea of the averaging method is the replacement, in differential equations, of the right-hand sides representing oscillations or rotations by “smoothed,” or averaged, functions which do not depend upon the time t and rapidly changing parameters.
