ABSTRACT

Operator-plant interface facilities have been developed with ever-improved capability for the user, both in terms of perceived window on to the plant and the methods used by the operator for interaction with the system. The general trend is towards development of integrated plant management information and control systems. Process sensors and final control elements, located throughout the plant, are connected to TDC 3000 distributed process interface boxes. The system is designed for integrated plant control, that includes recipe management, batch control, production planning, materials tracking, and advanced control with MP 100T. Application software of the system comprises the program modules for advanced continuous control and for recipe-driven batch process control, that includes batch process monitoring and sequencing. The field control stations are linked to the operator stations by the HF-bus data hiway. For product development, plant, and control systems engineers personal computer can collect and analyse real-time and historical data to better understand the process variables and ensure product quality.
