ABSTRACT

The bored Botlek Railwaytunnel in The Netherlands will be partly embedded in a mass of stabilized soil. The subsoil is very heterogeneous, consisting of peat, clay, silt and sand. For selection of the most appropriate working method and quality control system two test fields have been made in advance. One field to test the dry method and the other for the wet method testing. The dry method applied a mixture of 80% GEM III A 42.5 and 20% anhydrite. Engineering parameters were determined using CPT, BAT and lab-tests.
