ABSTRACT
One of the most difficult decisions faced by families raising a child with ASD is whether or not to place their family member in a type of out-of-home care. This chapter helps clinicians to be aware of the specific thoughts and concerns reported by parents during transitions. Chapter 18 also provides clinicians with open-ended questions to ask family members about how placement might affect the child with ASD, other children, or parents.
