ABSTRACT

Spring should now be in full swing in April and the changes that were being monitored in March are rapid now. Starting a scrapbook with the children to show the changes one sees weekly is helpful. Adding children's drawings and words from the visits is great. Keeping the display table up to date and encouraging parents to look and even add their own items of interest is resourceful. Taking the children outside to test their choices is a must (it would be a good idea to make sure all the children have a dry set of clothes to change back into if they need to). Finding some puddles to jump and play in, floating some boats on the water, exploring which things float and sink; supplying sieves, watering cans and buckets to encourage the children to play in the puddles can be entertaining. At the end of the session, asking the children to say whether they got wet is fun.
