ABSTRACT

There are several safe and effective treatments that are available for vitiligo. Existing treatments include topical and systemic immunosuppresants, phototherapy, and surgical techniques that, alone or together, may halt disease progression, stabilize lesions, and lead to repigmentation. However, no treatment has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for vitiligo yet. There is definitely a need for new, promising treatments for vitiligo. In this chapter, emerging topical, systemic, and surgical treatment options for vitiligo will be discussed.
