ABSTRACT
The title of this book promises cell models. And here we are, at the beginning, and instead of diving directly into modeling, we are going to take a look at a simulation first. We do that because we want to create images in your mind for later. Once we start talking about elasticity, we want you to already have seen an elastic cell deform. Once we talk about validation of the model and correspondence to reality, we want you to have some idea, what kind of inputs such a simulation needs and what kind of outputs it can provide.
