ABSTRACT
Proper structure is not a formula, but it is based upon observable patterns in the stories that have stood the test of time. For Aristotle, that pattern consists of three acts: the Beginning, made up of the Prologue and First Cause; the Middle, made up of the Complications; and the End, made up of the Unraveling and Denouement.
