ABSTRACT

Mankind has been telling stories since we first appeared on the planet. Interestingly, the way in which we tell them has remained essentially unchanged in all that time, regardless of history, culture, and geography. This book, utilizing the very first treatise on literary theory, Aristotle’s Poetics, will explore the function of storytelling, the universal precepts required to tell stories effectively, and how we can use those precepts in crafting a contemporary screenplay.
