ABSTRACT

Red Leaf School takes children from four years of age, where children enter its kindergarten, to eighteen plus years, where children and young adults are prepared for college and work. Red Leaf School has a charitable foundation dating back to the nineteenth century, with a long running history of supporting children with disabilities pedagogically and pastorally. However, when multi-media was used to provide a link between museum visits and class-based learning, children seemed to recall the information provided in the lessons in greater depth. Even the children’s more experiences with their families provoked their most passionate, meaningful and enjoyable memories of cultural visits. The web also provided an opportunity for developing an interest in museums and cultural heritage. Geographically, Paisleyton is largely comprised of neat Victorian and early twentieth century clapboard houses, based around a town center with local shops, surgeries, diners, and bars.
