ABSTRACT
This chapter will focus on two distinct topics. First, the current status of air sampling in the occupational environment in the United States and possible future trends will be addressed; second, two examples will be presented which illustrate different sampling strategies, one of them for prospective surveillance. Each of the examples is an actual case study of airborne contaminant concentration data collection in production facilities. Both cases are active and ongoing.
