ABSTRACT

The story and the lessons the coaching staff and these young women have to teach lie in the team's culture. Imagine a purposeful team whose mbers are committed to one another and who do whatever it takes each and every day to set its own standard of excellence. High-performing groups are made up of people who trust one another, who value being productive, whose word is their currency, and who enjoy a leader who believes he or she is there to make the team successful, not the other way around. The people on the team matter a great deal. That CEO often doesn't feel like it's quite right to wear their heart on their sleeves because it might scare people, the employees or customers or vendors.
