ABSTRACT
This chapter focuses on the green job market and what careers are available in the field of green energy and sustainable living. It introduces advice on finding green jobs and provides information about employment and research opportunities. The chapter provides an overview for the most rapidly-growing green careers. It addresses the exploding job market and answer questions, such as: what is a green job, what are its sub-specialties, and why green jobs may be the wave of the future. The tourism industry is a rapidly growing green industry. In fact, ecotourism is growing at three times the rate of the general tourism sector and requires a solid understanding of global sustainability issues. Ecotourism is responsible travel to fragile, pristine, usually protected areas that are at off-the-beaten-path locations. Sustainability implies something that endures over time without degrading, but it does not regenerate itself or create anything new.
