ABSTRACT

Grids are structures that are created for websites, apps, or other types of software systems. Although they are most likely invisible to the eye, without a grid the content could become extremely disorganized. One thing all grids have in common is the need to be updated constantly because of technological advancements. Some grids need to be flexible, capable of responding to different screen sizes, while others must be more static, because of the nature of the targeted hardware and software, such as an ATM machine. Responsiveness is not a necessary part of user interface (UI) design and is only required if the user needs flexibility and if the designer can make a decision on whether to make it responsive. Usually, it is easier to make a thinner UI responsive to a wider view, compared with making a wider UI responsive to a thinner view.
