ABSTRACT
This chapter deals with some elementary properties of monotone functions and some widely known examples of strange monotone functions. It presents the classical Lebesgue theorem on the differentiability of monotone functions. The chapter provides an application of the theorem to the differentiation of an indefinite Lebesgue integral. It also includes exercise problems related to the singular monotone functions.
