ABSTRACT

The resource packet is designed to provide a means or a guide on ways to evaluate our organization when contemplating the Lean journey. One way to gage organization readiness is to assess and evaluate the organization and its members. Evaluation tool examples included are as follows: Survey questionnaires (organization trust, organization culture, lean and organization learning self-assessment), training program development guidelines, training feedback forms and attributes of a good assessment. The examples included represent some of the types of evaluations that may be helpful in determining if the organization is positioned for success when it comes to implementing Lean. An assessment report should be written in a way that it is easily understood by the reader, and the content is relevant to the topic and purpose of the assessment. When writing an assessment report, one should consider some points described in this chapter as a starting point to organize his/her thoughts and the report.
