ABSTRACT

Data are everywhere. An impressive amount of data is collected about our behavior when we shop, interact with our friends on social media, read news online, click on an advertisement, or when we play games. Game studios are increasingly using telemetry to collect everything possible to collect about player behavior. And this represents the main limitation today with game analytics—how to make sense of all of this data. Displaying complicated graphs during an executive meeting sure looks impressive, and seeing where players drop out of your game is a wake-up call like no other, but truly finding meaning in data for what you are trying to accomplish is not that simple. So, make sure to welcome and empower data analysts as you get excited about game analytics because you will surely need them.
