ABSTRACT
In this chapter, the authors discuss the core aspect of mobile cloud computing technology, which is cloud computing. They want students to acquire a brief picture about cloud computing after reading. The authors provide students an overview of cloud computing with an understanding of basic concepts, principles, and implementations. Cloud computing has become one of the buzziest words in computing industry and a way of life for people. Infrastructure-as-a-Service is a service model that enables endusers to acquire virtualized computing resources, such as hard drives, processors, and memory cards, from cloud providers. Software-as-a-Service is also known as Application-as-a-Service, which refers to leveraging cloud-based software solutions to provide users with web-based software, platform, and infrastructure services. The community cloud is a deployment model that enables several organizations to host cloud infrastructures and sell or offer cloud services to a specific group of organizations.
