ABSTRACT
In Chapter 13, “Clinical Aspects Related to Methylphenidate-Based NPS”, Dino Lüthi and Matthias Liechti present a comprehensive overview on methylphenidate abuse as a cognitive enhancer as well as its similarities with cocaine and other novel stimulants. The chapter aims to bridge the knowledge between NPS, prescription drugs such as methylphenidate, and illegal drugs such as methamphetamine. It presents with toxicology analysis and then focuses on clinical presentations and symptoms. It provides a good overview of clinical management and addiction potential.
