ABSTRACT
After meeting quickly with other law enforcement, Detective Ski met with a good friend and local agent from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Together they began to head to the location where Ben Pieper was conducting his surveillance. Garrick Plonczynski was told by the Homicide Detective that he would continue the interview of the parents. Plonczynski, along with several members of the Violent Crimes Task Force, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, and Manatee County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division then went to the location where Pieper was conducting his surveillance. The homicide consumed a lot of time for both Pieper and Plonczynski. Jail mail was monitored, as were visitations and phone calls for all three suspects. When Plonczynski and his partner had gotten there, they quickly identified the gangs as Sur 13 and Canal Road Locos. The two gangs were always at each other's throat.
