ABSTRACT

When criminal justice leaders are aware of their roles and what is expected of them, they are able to make better choices. According to Gadeken, leaders should focus on building leadership capacity and offering support for new and struggling staff to help them to achieve their maximum potential. It is crucial for leaders to use their expertise and experience to build and boost programs such as Predictive Gang Prevention Programs (PGPs). The underlining components of PGPs in all these criminal justice institutions are collaboration and achievement. PGPs are characterized by a collaborative culture, inquiry, common mission, vision communication, and collective goals. Current misconceptions of PGP include the notion that having PGPs always yields success. Sustainability is central to the survival of PGPs criminal justice organization; strategies for sustainability include effective planning, innovation, employee retention, evaluation of PGPs continuous assessment, and a culture of adaptability.
