ABSTRACT

In a small number of cases the experimental studies of creep in the multiaxial stress state have been carried out on rectangular plate in the biaxial loading conditions. When examining different aspects of the development of creep deformation, it is necessary explain whether the given material is characterised by the initial anisotropy in the investigated range of variation of stress and temperature. To determine the characteristics of the material, tests are usually carried out on thin wall tubular specimens: the stress state in the specimens is usually generated by the combination of tensile loading with torsion or tensile loading with internal pressure. The creep measured in the experiments depends not only on the grade of the metal or alloy but also on the structure of the material, determined by preliminary thermomechanical treatment and other reasons. The hypothesis of the proportionality of the stress deviators and creep strain rates or the deviators of the stresses and strains has been proposed.
