ABSTRACT

Based on the risk identification, according to the property, deterrent and fragility, the paper analyses the frequentness and influence of risk event, computes the risk level of the information system by means of both qualitative and quantitative methods. Due to the critical role of information system, the occurrence of risk events will impose grave impacts on the process of commodity flow. This chapter analyses the probability and consequences of the occurrence of risk events, assesses the risks by means of both qualitative and quantitative methods, computes risk levels and provides reference for formulating risk control strategies in logistics information system. Risks in the information system are objective reality. Risk identification, the prerequisite of risk assessment, aims at understanding the risks objectively existing in the information system, diagnosing the root causes and analyzing the consequences and impacts of risk events. Qualitative assessment mainly depends on the knowledge, experience and lessons gained from the past of the person who assesses the risks.
