ABSTRACT

This chapter analyzes the multipath characteristics of Low-Voltage Power Line Carrier communication (LV-PLC) channels, and talks about the OFDM baseband transmission system and the multipath channel transmission characteristic model of LV-PLC. On this basis, the OFDM-based LV-PLC multipath transmission mathematical model that meets the compressed sensing conditions is deduced, and the CS-Orthogonal Matching Pursuit (OMP) estimation algorithm is proposed for OFDM-based LV-PLC channels. The main objective of the channel estimation problem is to detect the time domain and frequency domain transmission characteristics of the channel from the received distorted signal. As OFDM technology is applied to the LV-PLC, the transmission rate of LV-PLC has been greatly improved. Channel estimation is one of the key technologies of OFDM, the performance of which determines the reliability and effectiveness of the communication system. Matlab simulation using the LS, Minimum Mean Square Error, and CS-OMP algorithms have been conducted for an OFDM-based LV-PLC channel.
