ABSTRACT
Buildings form a very important component of any nation’s plan to guarantee a better quality of life to its citizens. It is not only a material parameter of growth, development and economic well-being, but also it manifests a sense of emotional and social security and satisfaction among the stakeholders. According to a global estimate, energy consumption, in terms of electricity, by building constructions is far greater than any other individual sector; amounting to harnessing of nearly 42% of the total available resources. There is a yawning gap in the demand and supply of power. Thus, raising the concern that development is being done at what cost? All the more important is to bother about wheeling of sustainability of such endeavors against ever power hungry belly that these buildings are born with. These, in turn, fame to liability creation rather than assets formulations. Policy awareness is an important component of object-oriented proliferation and energy sustainability.
