ABSTRACT
Aisha Durham critical performance indigenous autoethnography unearths, excavates, exposes, performs. It is mind-mining excavation of experience exhumed from repressed memories of survival, suffering, violence, pain, love, hatred, bodies, border-crossings, love, desire, lost, and found, home again. Paulo Freire the capitalist system, and globalization theory which speak of ethics, hide the fact that their ethics are those of the neoliberal marketplace and not the universal ethics of the human person. Tim Begaye Indigenous models of governance rest on inclusion, and the free and full participation of all members of a society in civic discourse. Mrs. Konile testified before the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. Her narrative, which included a dream episode and an incident with a goat, was hard to understand. A pedagogy of hope enacts a politics of resistance and imagines a utopian future. Hope makes radical cultural critique and racial social change possible.
